Anne-Catrin Wahls (born 1985 in Parchim, former GDR) is an actress and singer working in theatre, music theatre, film and television in Germany and internationally. Raised in a family of musicians, she developed an early interest in the performing arts. She began singing in a Protestant church choir at the age of eight and received early musical training in voice and piano.
At fourteen, she took her first steps onto the professional stage as a guest performer at the Young State Theatre in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. She later completed a state-recognised professional training in acting, singing and dance at the Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg.
At the age of twenty, Anne-Catrin Wahls embarked on an extensive international tour with the American symphonic metal band KAMELOT, performing across Europe, the United States, Canada and Russia. These years of touring provided early experience in large-scale productions and international performance contexts. She subsequently moved to Los Angeles, where she continued her training in acting, Bikram Yoga and English, and worked with acting coach Larry Moss.
Since 2006, Anne-Catrin Wahls has been based in Berlin, where she has worked extensively within the city’s theatre landscape. She has appeared in guest engagements at numerous theatres, including the Berliner Ensemble, Renaissance Theater Berlin, Schlosspark Theater, Theater Lübeck, Landesbühne Rheinland-Pfalz, Theater Vorpommern and Theater Altenburg-Gera.
Her stage work includes roles such as Effi Briest, Edith von Kekesfalva (Beware of Pity), Betty Schaefer (Sunset Boulevard), Marlene Dietrich (Spatz und Engel), and the Girl from East Berlin in Udo Lindenberg’s Hinterm Horizont. Alongside her theatre work, she regularly appears in film and television productions.
Since 2024, Anne-Catrin Wahls has been part of the ensemble of The Threepenny Opera at the Berliner Ensemble, one of Germany’s most influential theatres, founded by Bertolt Brecht. With this production, she has toured internationally, performing in Shanghai, Beijing, and at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg; further guest performances, including Taipei, are forthcoming.
Through her long-standing work at established theatres, in independent productions and international guest performance contexts, Anne-Catrin Wahls has gained extensive experience within a wide range of ensemble and production structures. She continues to work nationally and internationally.
